    Amanda M. White and Robert Andrew Mullis were married Sept. 5, 2015, in the gardens at Brown-Pusey House in Elizabethtown.
    The bride is the daughter of Eddie White of Vine Grove and Lori White of Elizabethtown.
    The groom is the son of Mark and Kim Savage of Nashville, Tennessee.

    Hailey E. Crook and Micah S. Pepper were married June 13, 2015.
    The bride is the daughter of Henry Crook and Michele Coleman of Madisonville. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is a licensed CPA. She was employed as an international accountant at Ashland Inc. in Lexington before moving to Michigan with her husband.

    Spanns welcomes Rory Adele

    Ryan and Elizabeth Spann of Elizabethtown announce the birth of their daughter, Rory Adele Spann, on Sept. 25, 2015, at St. Vincent’s East, Trussville, Alabama. She weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Lori and Dale Watson of Kingston, Tennessee.

    Lucas celebrate 25th anniversay

    Arnold and Lucy Lindsey Lucas of Big Clifty will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Oct. 12, 2015.
    They were married Oct. 12, 1990, in Leitchfield.
    Mr. Lucas is employed with the United States Postal Service in Leitchfield. They were the owners of the former Double L Grocery in Big Clifty.

     Kevin and Linda Strader of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kirsten Shea Strader, to Nicholas Andrew Norwood, son of  Ken and Jackie Norwood of Louisville.
    The bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Elizabethtown High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Louisville with a bachelors degree in nursing.

  • Supporters gather at Freeman Lake to walk for Alzheimer’s cure

    John and Wanda Poteet trailed other participants in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk To End Alzheimer’s on Saturday morning at Freeman Lake Park.

    Wanda was bundled in a quilt and stayed near her husband. She was diagnosed about four years ago with early on-set Alzheimer’s.

    A man running along the U.S. 31W Bypass before sunrise Friday was struck in a hit-and-run collision and airlifted to a Louisville hospital.

  • Rineyville popcorn farmer to be featured on TV show

    As a kid, Jon Breed­ing thought popcorn came from a Mason jar that sat on a shelf above a potbelly stove in his grandfather’s shop.

    He has vivid memories of his grandfather grabbing an old wire basket popcorn popper, filling it with kernels from the jar and sticking the basket inside the stove.
