  • PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Elizabethtown third at Woodford; Fort Knox goes 0-2 (09/18)

    Elizabethtown had its four-match winning streak snapped right off the bat Friday in the Woodford County Invitational.
    But the Lady Panthers rallied for a third-place finish Saturday in the 10-team tournament.
    Boone County defeated Elizabethtown 26-24, 19-25, 15-7 in the Lady Panthers’ opening pool-play match. Then they defeated Lexington Bryan Station (25-16, 27-26), Anderson County (25-12, 25-18) and Scott County (25-19, 25-19) to advance to the medal round.

    There’s a new rivalry budding in area boys’ cross country.

    With former standout runners Andrew Stewart and John Egan now competing in college, Meade County junior Will Strickland and North Hardin sophomore Marcus Terrell have picked up where those two left off.
