The intersection of the new extension to 313 and KY 1500 needs a stop light and it needs it now. Without a traffic control device there will be some humongous T-bone collisions in the near future as traffic through that intersection increases. Now a driver at the stop signs on KY1500 must traverse a distance of approximately 6 traffic lanes to successfully cross the intersection. With traffic on 313 running at between 55-60 mph it is a daunting task to calculate your chances to successfully get through the intersection while two way traffic flashes by. I strongly recommend that the highway gurus put their heads together, or get them out of the sand and put in a light at this intersection. I would hate to see someone killed trying to get through there when a fix is just a few bucks. If they cannot afford a light then make the intersection a four-way stop.

313 and 1500 intersection

It's taking the highway department ages to finish up the intersection and activate the lights. It took several years to finish the bypass, over a year to build a small bridge, and about a year to redo another bridge in E-town. What's up with them?? If they have good reasons, no one is communicating it.

Intersection of 313 and 1500

Well, the electric warning sign telling approaching motorists that the traffic on 313 does not stop is gone now. This intersection is a major hazard to the driving public and needs to get a 4-way stop or a traffic light. Maybe the Editorial Board of the N-E can get the state to fix this issue?

First T-Bone at intersection of 313 and 1500

Last week I saw the result of the first T-bone accident at the intersection of the the newly opened 313 and KY 1500 in Vine Grove. This will assuredly not be the last, but it was the first one I have come upon since the connection opened. Looked like two cars were struck by one trying to cross the 313 connection. How long will the State highway officials leave the big electric sign flashing about a quarter mile from the intersection warning that 313 traffic does not stop? If not permanently, then I guess that they will assume that no "unannointed" driver will attempt a crossing there. Folks, we need the state people to make this a 4-way stop, or put in a traffic light. Crossing 5 lanes to get to the other side with cars going 55-60 mph in both directions and a turn lane also in play makes this a terribly engineered intersection. A really serious crash is just around the corner, no pun intended.
