CALLS AND VISITS. Most of Ervin and Violet Stith’s children visited them this weekend at their home in White Mills. I appreciated a phone call from Frances Riggs of Sonora Saturday. SYMPATHY. Sympathy to the family of Corene Terry of Summit. Survivors include a son, Rex Terry, and a daughter, Doris Holton and Kenneth of Cecilia. Sympathy to the family of the Rev. Clarence Raymond Harper, 80, of Cecilia. Sympathy to the family of Elmer Clyde Hornback, 78, of Glendale. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS. A birthday party was given Saturday night in honor of Brad Johnson for his 18th birthday at his home in Elizabethtown, given by his parents, Todd and Tammie Johnson. A number of his friends attended, along with his grandparents. A birthday party for Gavan and Zack Young was given Saturday night by their parents, Chris and Lynn Young, at a local restaurant with a number of youngsters, their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents attending. The children were having a great time along with everyone. APPRECIATION. I appreciated my neighbor, Paul Hawkins, who went after and installed a new well pump on my well, along with some help. The pump had been in our well for many years. After shorting fuse after fuse in the basement, the problem is now solved. I appreciated James and Loretta Johnson, who helped by replacing fuses that didn’t work since the problem was in the pump in the well. GET-WELL WISHES. Get-well wishes and prayers for Maxiene Stith, Maxine Ewing, Helen Vessels, Gilbert Napper and others. I appreciated a phone call from Lorena Napper. She said the rabbits are eating her cabbage as soon as she plants it. GARDENING NEWS. I have some beautiful tomato plants, but they are still in the pots. Maybe the weather is warm enough now to set them in the garden. I do have cabbage planted. I have been planting some garden and putting my flowers out in beds. My iris and pink dogwood are blooming. I had two white dogwood, but have lost them.
