Here is a list of bankruptcy proceedings filed recently by Hardin County residents. Included are the name, street, city of residence and the chapter of the federal bankruptcy code under which the petition was filed. An explanation of the different chapters of bankruptcy: Chapter 7 — court-appointed trustee sells assets and debtor is discharged of debts. Chapter 11 — company or individual seeks to reorganize and is protected from creditors while continuing to operate. Chapter 12 — farmer seeks to reorganize and is protected from creditors while continuing to operate. Chapter 13 — debtor with income pays debts over time under court supervision.
