Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson announced he will not run for governor at today's noon Rotary Club meeting at Stone Hearth restaurant in Elizabethtown.
The Democrat told the luncheon meeting he will "focus solely on education" after his term ends in 2015. He said he has no plans to seek another elective office.
Abramson, a former mayor of Louisville, is in his first term serving with Gov. Steve Beshear. Beshear is in his second and final term for governor.
