Donna O’Neill, Marine veteran from West Point’s Ritchie-Trent American Legion Post No. 148 presented the POW/MIA program Sept. 22. Fran Moore, past Auxiliary Kentucky Department president and state coordinator of the National League of Families of Prisoners and Missing gave a brief overview of The League. Its sole purpose is to obtain the release and identification of all recovered remains of our military who were Prisoners of War or Missing in Action. President Obama proclaimed Sept. 21 as National POW/MIA Recognition Day with programs being held throughout the week.
