Magistrate true to his convictions
A letter to the editor in Sunday’s The News-Enterprise stated, “E.G. Thompson admitted to me he opposed the move to Ring Road but voted for it anyway.”
Fact: I did express to the writer that my preference for the location of new court facilities would not be Ring Road.
Fact: I do favor a new building that would be more cost effective than renovating existing buildings.
Fact: After analyzing the input and facts, my own conviction is now is the time to move forward with building new Hardin County government facilities in the most cost-efficient location – even if this is not in my preferred location.
Sunday’s letter to the editor he further stated, “A guy who cannot even vote in favor of his own convictions cannot be counted upon to vote in the best interest of his constituents.”
Fact: I adamantly voted my conviction: “Now is the time to move forward with building new Hardin County government facilities in the most cost-efficient location – even if this is not in my very own preferred location.”
Fact: I intend to always be found doing what is good and right and acting in the best interest of my constituents.
