Juanita Vannatter Back

Juanita Vannatter Back, 81, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, April 25, 2008, at her residence in Clearwater, Fla.

A native of Akron, Ohio, she resided in Clearwater for the winter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, P. Dale Back.

Survivors include four children, Linda Dain of Elizabethtown, Joyce Akin and Deanna Medeiros, both of Clearwater, and Robert Back of Helena, Mont.; a brother, Raymond Vannatter of Elizabethtown; and 16 grandchildren.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Pastor Joey VanDuesen officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Larry Dean Brown

Larry Dean Brown, 51, of Prospect, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, in Louisville.

Survivors include a son, Ricky Dan Brown; five siblings, Oveida Lee, Doug Brown, Gayle Baker and Debra Fischer, all of Texas, and Lester Brown of Radcliff; and five grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen by the family.

Johnny Lee Fleming Jr.

Johnny Lee Fleming Jr., 56, of Radcliff, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at his home.

He attended First Baptist Church in Irvington. He retired from the Army after 21 years of service. He was a veteran of Vietnam and was a two-time recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Fleming was an active patrolman with the Irvington Police Department.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Lee Fleming Sr.; and a grandson, Draven Lee Fleming.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Barbara Fleming; two sons, Johnny Lee Fleming III and Jeannine of Elizabethtown and Victor Marcellus Fleming and his wife, Tonya, of Radcliff; his mother, Willemena Bell of Hilton Head, S.C.; three sisters, Shirley Fleming and Deborah Bryan, both of Hilton Head, and Joyce James of Antigua; two brothers, Freddie and Lennie, both of New York City; two granddaughters, Akira Fleming and Victoria Fleming; and a grandson, Zachery.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Radcliff with Assistant Minister Robert Young officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at 10 a.m. Friday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff.

John Bainbridge ‘Jack’ Gillette Jr.

John Bainbridge Gillette Jr., 81, of Vine Grove, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Radcliff.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Gillette; and his mother, Alberta Wickam.

Survivors include his wife, Almita Gillette; a daughter, Patricia Rucker and her husband, Alfred, of Radcliff; two sons, Ted Gillette and his wife, Ranae, of Bersford, S.D., and Don Gillette and his wife, Lauretta, of Gerretson, S.D.; three grandsons, Christopher Gillette, Issac Jemison and Travis Gillette; and two granddaughters, Micah Whaley and her husband, Scott, and Lacey Gillette.

Cremation was chosen. There will be a committal service at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff with Charles Heater officiating.

Linda Louise Misiak

Linda Louise Misiak, 59, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

A native of Detroit, she worked at J.C. Penney for 17 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Pauline Marguerite Combs Horvath; and a sister, Judy Faye Polus.

Survivors include her husband, John Paul Misiak; a daughter, Constance Marie Ballard of Rineyville; and a grandchild, Matthew Ballard of Rineyville.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the home of Frank Misiak, 291 Hampton Lane, Elizabethtown.

Retired Master Sgt. Robert Eugene Rittenhouse

Retired Master Sgt. Robert Eugene Rittenhouse, 69, of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Mr. Rittenhouse was a veteran of the Army. He was a member of Valley View Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include his loving wife of more than 18 years, Ellen Rittenhouse; two stepchildren, Ricky Evans and Sherry Ryan, both of Lenoir City, Tenn.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dean Rittenhouse of Florida.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday at Valley View Baptist Church in Vine Grove with the Rev. K. Christian Burton officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at 9 a.m. Friday at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove.

Phyllis M. Wiedewitsch

Phyllis M. Wiedewitsch, 60, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., of pancreatic cancer.

She was born April 21, 1947, in Abingdon, Va., to Vance and Gae McClure, and moved to the Port Charlotte area five years ago from Arlington, Va. Phyllis worked as a medical technologist for the U.S. government and was a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She also was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Port Charlotte. The Wiedewitsch family maintained a home in Elizabethtown while they were stationed at Fort Knox.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry L. Wiedewitsch; a sister, Joann Domire of Fairfax, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral was April 9 at Peace Lutheran Church in Port Charlotte with interment in Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.
