The strongest blast of winter weather this season swept through Hardin County on Sunday.
“It’s not even winter yet,” said Mark Adams, lead forecaster for the Fort Knox weather station. Fall officially lasts until next Tuesday.
The early season storm brought a mix of freezing rain, snow and gusty winds.
Locally, the eastern part of the county received the most snow — between 3 and 4 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Higher totals were recorded in the southern and eastern parts of Kentucky.
