Book buyback info

By The Staff

Q: I am getting ready to take my finals and want to sell my books back to the bookstore. What do I need to know to sell them?

A: Your ECTC Bookstore buys books all year long, but the best time to sell your books is when finals start. We will pay you 50 percent of the book’s selling price if your professors have assigned it for the next term and the bookstore is not overstocked.

If the book does not meet these criteria, prices are determined by the current national demand and the books are bought for a used book company and shipped to them.

All books must be in good condition. Study guides and workbooks must be “like new” without any writing on their pages. Please note, in some cases, professors may request that we do not buy study guides or workbooks back.

Some books have little or no monetary value such as out-of-print books and old editions. These books are not in national demand and we cannot buy them.

A receipt is not needed to sell back your textbooks

Q: What do I need to bring to sell my books?

A: For student’s protection, we always require those selling books to show a current driver's license or picture ID.

Q: When is the bookstore open?

A: Bookstore hours for buyback this coming week are:

8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, May 12-15

8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 16 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17
