What do I need to do? A: You can start by contacting the Admissions Office on or after Jan. 5 and requesting an application for admission. Or you can fill out an application online at www.elizabethtown.kctcs.edu. If you have attended college before, submit official transcripts from any that you’ve attended. Placement scores also are required. If you haven’t taken the ACT or COMPASS exams, you can take the COMPASS from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 5, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 6–9. The exam will be given at the ECTC Assessment Center Jan. 5 and 6, and in Room 310 of the Occupational/Technical Building on Jan. 7—9. There is no charge to take the COMPASS exam the first time. Check out www.act.org/compass/index.html for test prep information. Q: When can I register for classes, and when do classes start? A: Classes start Jan. 12. Spring registration will be Jan. 7 and 8 in the Regional Postsecondary Education Center, according to the following schedule, which is alphabetical by last name. Jan. 7 9 to 10:30 a.m.: T—Z 10:30 a.m. to noon: Q—S 1 to 2:30 p.m.: N—P 2:30 to 4 p.m.: L—M 4 to 6 p.m.: L—Z Jan. 8 9 to10:30 a.m.: H—K 10:30 a.m. to noon: E—G 1 to 2:30 p.m.: C—D 2:30 to 4 p.m.: A—B 4 to 6 p.m.: A—Z Students may register for classes any time after their assigned time, but not before. Open registration for all students will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 7 and 8 on Fort Knox. Schedule adjustments will be made from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 12 and 13 on main campus and on Fort Knox. “Ask ECTC” answers questions about college commonly asked by high school students and adults.
