Why fix unbroken local governments?
At 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, Hardin Fiscal Court has its first reading of an ordinance establishing a unification review commission. Approval of the commission would put in motion a mechanism to draft a charter for unified local government. This commission will consist of a 20- to 40-member body appointed by participating governments. Hardin County United, whose governance committee is chaired by Ken Howard, is a volunteer organization lobbying for the commission.
