Brenda Faye Begley

Brenda Faye Begley, 60, of Elizabethtown died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at her home.

A native of Middletown, Ohio, she was retired from the Fort Knox School System.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Snider; and a sister, Deborah Harrison.

Survivors include her son, Donald Begley, and his wife, Heather, of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Sheila Bryant, and her husband, Donnie, of Elizabethtown; her father, Ruchell Lykins of Ohio; her mother, Betty L. Brown of Florida; a sister, Glenda Hamilton of Ohio; four grandchildren, Andrew Snider, Anthony L. Owens, Stacie Hoagland and Karl Dennis Snider; three great-grandchildren, Haylie Lynn Matthews, Michael Joseph Matthews and Savannah Renea Owens; and three special girls who were like daughters to her, Laura Townsend of Elizabethtown, Michelle Hoagland of Radcliff and Sarah Jeffries of Elizabethtown.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Brad Kerfoot officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Lawrence Beau Hibbard Sr.

Lawrence Beau Hibbard Sr., 67, of Hudson, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, in Leitchfield.

He was born April 5, 1941, in Liberty, Ind., to the late John and Senora Hensley Hibbard. He was a retired mechanic.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Jesse Lentz.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Lou Kuchenbrod Hibbard of Hudson; a daughter, Cindy (Mike) Smallwood of Cecilia; three sons, Beau Hibbard Jr. and Mark (Debbie) Hibbard of Cecilia and John (Liz) Hibbard of Hudson; nine grandchildren, Chad, Ethan, Shannon, Miranda, Amanda, Brianna, Kelly, Hannah and John Jr.; a stepgranddaughter, Brittany; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Skylar, Jaden and Wesley; a brother, James Hibbard of Louisville; and three sisters, Gladys Smith of Cecilia and Roberta Hibbard and Bill Lee Devers, both of Louisville.

The funeral was Wednesday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg with burial in Hudson Cemetery.

Paul E. Hourigan

Paul E. Hourigan, 82, of Mount Washington, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

He was retired from L&N and CSX railroads and was a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Washington.

Survivors include his loving wife, Doris Hourigan; one son, Tim Hourigan (Nicole), Bluffton, Ind.; one brother, C.A. Hourigan Jr.; two grandchildren; Aaron Hourigan and Tara Mitchell (John); and two great-grandchildren, Zachaury and Joshua Mitchell.

The funeral service is at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Schmid Funeral Home in Mount Washington with burial in Lebanon Junction Cemetery.

Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the service time Friday.

Memorial donations may go to the First Baptist Church of Mount Washington building fund.

Katherine Harper Reardon Hughes

Katherine Harper Reardon Hughes, 88, of Vine Grove, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at her home.

She was a member of Vine Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Hughes; a son, Garrell L. Reardon; her parents, John T. and Jane Harper; two brothers, Ed Harper and “Bob” Harper; and four sisters, Beulah Harper, Pearl Miller, Mary Higbee and Nell Quisenberry.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Ron Burgess of Vine Grove; a brother, “Jake” Harper and his wife, Estelle, of Vine Grove; two sisters, Margaret Morris of Lexington and Hallie Humphrey of Pekin, Ind.; five grandchildren, Mark Burgess, David Burgess, Geoffery Burgess, Nathan Burgess and Veronica Ramsey; and 21 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Vine Grove Baptist Church with Chaplain Larry Vance officiating. Burial will be in Garnettsville Cemetery in Muldraugh.

The visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Friday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove.

Emma Waldeck

Emma Waldeck, 85, of Bonnieville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
