 Roger Lee Conner Sr.

Roger Lee Conner Sr., 74, of Irvington, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008. Survivors include a son, Roger Lee Conner Jr.; and two daughters, Sharon Rai Hilley and Lora May. The funeral is at 1 p.m. EDT Monday at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. EDT today with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. EDT today at the funeral home.   Leonard Kenneth ‘Len’ Fizer Leonard Kenneth “Len” Fizer, 65, of Radcliff, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was a member of Vine Grove Baptist Church. Master Sgt. Fizer retired from the Army after 23 years of service. During his military career he earned a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star medal, and many other awards and commendations. He also retired from civil service at Fort Knox after 23½ years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Fizer; his father, Dana Fizer; and a brother, Jim Fizer. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Fizer; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and AnnMarie Claycamp and Mike and Donya Claycamp; six grandchildren, Jeremy Tribell, Jessica Claycamp, Brett Claycamp, Kelly Claycamp, Thorne Claycamp and Corey Gardner; a great-grandson, Christian Tribell; six sisters; and seven brothers. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Vine Grove Baptist Church in Vine Grove with Chaplain Larry Vance officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff. The visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove. The guest register may be signed at www.nebfh.com.   Destiny Lynn Goodlett Destiny Lynn Goodlett, infant daughter of Janie Thompson and Billy Goodlett of Radcliff, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville. She also is survived by her paternal grandmother, Dolores Mahaney of Upton; paternal grandfather, Hackie V. Helton of Cincinnati; maternal grandmother, Shirley Butler of Bonnieville; paternal great-grandmother, Marcella Hobby of Upton; and maternal great-grandmother, Judy Thompson of Bonnieville. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Quinn Cemetery in Bonnieville with the Rev. Glenn Routt officiating. Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Manakee Funeral Home in Upton. Condolences may be expressed online at www.manakeefuneralhome.com.   Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Carole Hayden Elizabeth “Betty” Carole Hayden, 56, of Louisville, formerly of Lebanon Junction, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Hosparus of Louisville. She was a native of Jefferson County. She lived at the Wendell Foster Center for 13 years in Owensboro, where she had many friends. She was employed by the Zoom Group in Louisville and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Louisville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Pauline Hayden. Survivors include two brothers, Gabe (Connie) Hayden of Louisville and Bill (Darlene) Hayden Jr. of Elizabethtown; one sister, Terry Hayden of Lebanon Junction; two nieces, Beth Hayden and Marlee Bullock; one nephew, Stewart Bullock; a great-niece; and extended family, Stephanie Curry, Darlene Mayer and Charlotte Sanders, all of Louisville. The funeral Mass is at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Newburg Road in Louisville with the Rev. Jack Conley officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Bardstown. Visitation continues from 1 to 8 p.m. today and continues at 9 a.m. Monday at Arch L. Heady & Son in Okolona. McMillen, 63, of Elizabethtown, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was a native of Jefferson County. She was a member of the Tunnel Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Cora Downey Boyd Sr.; a daughter, Edna “Rose” Ack; a son, Terry McMillen; and a grandson, Alieja Blu McMillen. She is survived by her husband, Henry McMillen of Elizabethtown; four daughters, Cathie Casteel, Martha Wilson and Terese Pelk of Elizabethtown, and Wendy Figg of Oklahoma; four sons, Matthew McMillen and Berry McMillen of Elizabethtown, Samuel McMillen of Mount Sterling, and Jerry McMillen of Oklahoma; two brothers, Louis Boyd Jr. and Jerry Boyd of Elizabethtown; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, with the Rev. Wayne Borders officiating. Burial will be in the Brown Family Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
