Bail was set Friday for Patrick Neal, a Radcliff man accused of sexually abusing a 5-year-old relative.

Despite arguments from his attorney, Roger Rigney, concerning Neal’s military service and lack of a criminal record, Hardin District Judge Kim Shumate set the bond at $25,000. She cited the fact the allegations constitute a Class C felony and Neal is a flight risk. Neal left the state in February after the accusations came to light.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 3.

Neal was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of sexual abuse.
