BASEBALL: Adcock making most of opportunity with Royals

Nathan Adcock has said being picked up by the Kansas City Royals in December’s Rule 5 Draft gives him the best shot at achieving his childhood dream of playing in the major leagues.

His performance Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics could go a long way in helping him secure a spot in the Royals’ bullpen.

In his spring training starting debut, Adcock scattered three hits in three innings to help the Royals knock off an A’s split squad, 4-3 in Surprise, Ariz. The outing extended his scoreless innings streak to eight in five appearances.
