A local student let her fingers do the talking (and reading) at a recent state competition.
Brooke Berger, 17, a high school junior at the Kentucky School for the Blind, placed third in the Kentucky Regional Braille Challenge two weeks ago. This is the first year the state has held a Braille competition, which tests reading, listening and writing skills.
Kentucky is one of 36 states that has or will host a competition, and a national challenge will occur in Los Angeles in June.
