The Blue Soul Gypsys return to the Historic State Theater stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Aaron McDowell, Justin Perz and Jeffery Scott make up the band with a sound that mixes progressive, classic, southern, blues and rock music. They met at Pandaruella Productions, a local studio headed by Jacob and Samantha Langley.

The band describes its music as Rock and Roll with a soulful feeling, driving melodies and catchy meaningful choruses. The lyrics come from their real lives and has effected their lives in some way. Because of that the band feels their music is relatable.

The Blue Soul Gypsys has performed locally and in Louisville and will be releasing a new EP.

The evening kicks off with an opening act featuring England’s Matt Butcher and The School Yard Band.

An added guest will be Chico from the Discover Channel show “Moonshines.”

A CD release party will follow the show in the First Federal Gallery in the downtown theater complex. All performers and Chico will be signing autographs and selling merchandise at the release party.

Tickets are $10.
