The Hardin County Board of Adjustment’s meeting Oct. 18 marked a milestone. It was the organization’s 300th meeting.
Established by Hardin County Planning Commission in 1995 and appointed by the Hardin Fiscal Court to four-year terms, the Board of Adjustment has provided assistance to residents of Hardin County for the last 17 years. Its first meeting was held Aug. 17, 1995.
It is a quasi-judicial panel that hears evidence and make findings of fact on applications submitted by residents seeking conditional use permits, variances, administrative reviews and appeals pertaining to zoning regulations.
The decision of the board can be appealed to circuit court.
The board meets at 5 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays of each month in the R.R. Thomas Government Building on Public Square in Elizabethtown.
