The Annual District Recognition Dinner was held at Saint James Catholic Church for the Boy Scouts the former Frontier District of Boy Scouts of America earlier this year. This dinner serves as a format to honor adult leaders, Scout Troops and Cub Scout Packs, as well as individual Scouts who have had an outstanding impact in the District through service to their unit, the District or the community at large.
Nicholas A. Bradley, Frontier District Advancement Chairman served as Master of Ceremonies. He was aided by District Committee Members Johnathon F. Boles, Rita K. Walker, Stephen E. White, Michael Robinson, Brian Sellers, and Amanda Smith in presenting the various awards,
Father Chuck Walker, pastor of St. James Catholic Church, provided the invocation.
Adults who were awarded the Buckskin Award: Cyndi Leathers, Anthony Holt, Mike Nelson, Jim Anderson, Scott Willman, Christopher Wheatley, Yolanda Hicks, Tracy D. Childress, Chris Gibbs, Brianne Bateman, Angel Burden, Sherry Stith, Rabecca Rigdon, Cole Miller, Steve Westover, Belinda Burd, Dawn Childress, Cathy J. White, Nobel Tackett, and Jeannie Ball.
Adults who were awarded the President’s Award: Dawn Sellers, Bill Manners, Kevin Etter, Jacob Copler, Michael Robinson, Stephen E. White, Daryl Blohm, Kenneth Jaggers, Paul Hornberger, and Bonnie Nelson.
Adults who were awarded the District Award of Merit: Nicholas A. Bradley, Brian Sellers, Jim Williams, Scott Reynolds, And Bridget McKinley.
Mary A. Williams of Fort Knox was awarded the first Abraham Lincoln Service Award for outstanding service and devotion to our District. Monica Hill of Lebanon was honored with the Willis Treadwell Lifetime Achievement Award.
Frontier District Troop of the Year is Troop 244 of White Mills, Troop 233 of Elizabethtown came in second place, and Troop 15 of Elizabethtown came in third place.
We also honored Larry Arnold and Scott Landram, who has served as our District Executives for were honored for their commitment to the Youth of our area.
The former Frontier District served 2500 youth and has 1000 adult volunteers. The current Boy Scout District for our area, Lincoln Trail District, represents Hardin, Grayson, Breckinridge, LaRue, and Meade Counties.
