Sophomore guard Patrick Nichols made a layup with 1 minute to play to give Central Hardin its first lead and the Bruins held on for a 44-43 victory over Spring Hill (Tenn.) in the fifth-place game in the First Southern National Bank Tournament at Russellville on Saturday.
Senior guard Jacob Barnes led the Bruins (7-4) with 14 points, three rebounds and two assists, while senior guard Evan Payne chipped in with eight points and Nichols scored seven.
Spring Hill led 22-19 at the half and 31-27 going into the fourth quarter.
