BOYS' PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Four area teams pick up wins (01/09)

Senior guard Kelton Ford had 25 points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists to help the LaRue County Hawks hold off the homestanding Adair County Indians, 48-41 on Tuesday.

LaRue County (9-5) won its fifth straight.

Junior forward Kody Key-Close added 12 points and five rebounds, while senior guard Dustin Coulter scored six points. Junior forward Tyler Howell grabbed 10 rebounds.

MEADE COUNTY 41, HANCOCK COUNTY 30. Junior forward Charles Mattingly had 13 points and five rebounds to lead the homestanding Green Wave past 11th District rival Hancock County.

Junior guard Luke Wilson scored seven points, while freshman forward John Michael Millay scored six for Meade County (6-10, 3-1 district), which won its second straight.

Sophomore guard John Wilson and senior guard Bryce Garris each scored five points.

FORT KNOX 62, THOMAS NELSON 59. Junior wing Michael Powell scored a career-high 21 points to lead the Eagles (3-9) past the Generals.

Junior guard Chris Jackson added 11 points and senior wing Rashaan Allen had 10 for Fort Knox, which led 32-26 at the half en route to snapping a two-game losing streak.

Junior wing Xavier Luckey scored eight points.

Jones had 24 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and five steals, while junior guard Michael Dial added 13 points, two rebounds and two assists.

Chris Kerulis chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.
