Central Hardin beats Nelson County

The News-Enterprise Senior midfielder Jacob Hughes scored two goals to lead the visiting North Hardin Trojans to a 5-2 win over Louisville Butler on Tuesday. Sophomore defender Travis Harlan and sophomore midfielder Andrew Stewart each added a goal and an assist, while senior midfielder Jacquez Leandre scored a goal. Senior midfielder Marcellus Hobbs and junior defender Alan Wells each had an assist for the Trojans (3-5), who snapped a three-game losing streak. Junior keeper Daniel Padilla made six saves in relief of junior keeper Mike Sears. North Hardin led 2-1 at halftime and outshot Butler, 25-10. North Hardin won the junior varsity game, 4-1. UP NEXT: North Hardin hosts Louisville DeSales at 7 p.m. Thursday. CENTRAL HARDIN 3, NELSON COUNTY 1. Junior forward Blaine Brawner scored two goals and assisted on another as the host Bruins (6-1) rolled. Brawner scored in the 44th minute off an assist from sophomore defender Nikos Mastoroudis and on a penalty kick in the 64th minute. Mastoroudis scored off a pass from Brawner in the 5th minute for Central Hardin’s first goal. Junior keeper Dakota Bowen made six saves. Central Hardin won the JV game, 2-0. UP NEXT: Central Hardin plays at 10 th District rival Elizabethtown at 7 p.m. Thursday. GRAYSON COUNTY 2, FORT KNOX 1. The homestanding Cougars (3-4-2) snapped the Eagles’ three-game winning streak. Fort Knox (6-4-1) lost for the first time since falling to Bardstown Bethlehem in the 5th/6th Region All ‘A’ Classic on Thursday. No other statistics were available.
