BOYS' PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP: Meade County blanks Fort Knox; North Hardin Christian wins (9/17)

Junior midfielder Logan Railey and junior forward Zack Brown each scored an unassisted goal in the second half to lead the visiting Meade County Green Wave to a 2-0 win over 10th District rival Fort Knox on Tuesday.

Meade County (5-2-1 overall, 2-1 district) won for the fourth time in its last five games and moved into a tie with Central Hardin for the No. 3 seed in the upcoming district tournament.

Fort Knox (6-5-1, 0-3) lost its second game in a row after winning the Barren County Trojan Classic earlier this month.

Junior keeper Jordan Compton made seven saves for Meade County, which was outshot by Fort Knox, 7-6.

The Green Wave won the junior varsity game, 1-0.

UP NEXT: Meade County plays at North Oldham at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

NORTH HARDIN CHRISTIAN 5, JEFFERSONTOWN ACADEMY OF IND. EXCELLENCE 0. Junior midfielder David Torrisi scored two goals to lead the homestanding Falcons (6-2).

Torrisi scored his first goal off an assist from senior defender Haustin Kimbrough, who also scored.

Junior midfielder Ronnie Thompson and Steve Packer added unassisted goals.

Sophomore keeper Ben Naething made seven saves.

UP NEXT: North Hardin Christian hosts Lexington Trinity Christian at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
