FORT KNOX — The largest military component moving to Fort Knox because of the Pentagon’s base realignment plan will come to Kentucky via Afghanistan.

The 3rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, assembled at Fort Hood, Texas, as barracks are built at Fort Knox, will serve a 15-month tour beginning this summer before moving into its new digs upon returning home.
