LOUISVILLE

A Brandenburg man will be arraigned in federal court Tuesday in Louisville on charges of knowingly attempting to receive images of child pornography over the Internet and knowingly possessing images of child pornography which had been transmitted over the Internet.

A federal grand jury indicted Christopher Neal Lowther, 31, on the charges Monday.

On Oct. 18, 2007, agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement executed a search warrant on Lowther’s residence in Brandenburg. Two computers were seized from his residence and a forensic examination of one of the computers located approximately 213 images of child pornography.

In the event of a conviction, Lowther faces a maximum of 30 years in prison, a $500,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of life; and the minimum penalties are five years in prison and supervised release for a period of five years.
