Brittany Stokan named Elizabethtown Lions Club Student of the Month

At the Jan. 8 meeting of the Elizabethtown Lions club, Lion Al Mather presented the club’s Elizabethtown High School Student of the Month Brittany Stokan. Brittany shared with the club that she is involved in both school and athletics. She is a member of the Pep Club, BETA Club, Spanish Club and FCA. She is secretary for the Students Against Destructive Decisions Club. Brittany is ranked first in her class. She is the recipient of the Bausch and Lomb Science Award, as well as the Yarmuth Book Award recognizing students who excel within the English department and was a National Achievement semi finalist. Athletics include swimming and volleyball, being captain of each for three years and she was a first team All State Player; she lifeguards during the summer. Community work includes participation in youth group, where she enjoys being involved in various community activities. Brittany also tutors students in math. Her future plans are to attend the University of Louisville, University of Kentucky or Vanderbilt University, finish med school and become a neurosurgeon.
