Car hits construction worker on Ring Road sidewalk

A construction worker was injured Monday when he was struck by a vehicle while standing on a Ring Road sidewalk near Freeman Lake.

Steve E. Ward, 52, was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville with head and “possible internal injuries,” according to a news release from Elizabethtown Police Department. He was placed in the hospital’s emergency room.
