Area residents can enjoy family fun and support a new playground for students in Radcliff.

A carnival is planned for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at North Park Elementary School on South Logsdon Parkway in Radcliff.

Spring Fling is organized as a fundraiser to help pay off an estimated $4,000 debt on a playground bought for the school two years ago.

Free events include inflatables, chalk drawing and hula-hooping.

Game booths, such as a ring toss, cupcake walk and duck pond, can be played using tickets that cost 50 cents each. Pony rides are scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon.

Food also will be available.

Parent Teacher Organization Vice President Lisa Witcher said the idea for the fundraiser came from PTO members brainstorming.

They hope to raise about $500 at the event to combine with proceeds from other fundraisers.

Students seem excited about the event, considering the numerous tickets that have been presold, Witcher said.

They also have enjoyed their new playground, she said.

Witcher hopes carnival attendees can enjoy family fun while supporting the playground.
