Cecilia

Irene Dodson, 862-3808

My computer is going to the shop for a couple of weeks, so I am writing my news early, in order to have a few items for next weekend. But guess I won’t have a column for the following Sunday, as I don’t expect my computer home until Easter Sunday. Sorry to miss a week.

CHURCH NEWS. Stephensburg/Summit United Methodist Church joint choirs will present the cantata “It Is Finished” at 7 p.m. Good Friday, March 29. The Stephensburg church is located at 400 Franklin Crossroads Road in Cecilia. Turn off Highway 62 across from Lakewood Elementary and West Hardin Middle School. The church is on the right by the lake. Please join us for worship in song.

At College Heights United Methodist Church, Maundy Thursday Communion Service is at 7 p.m. March 28 in the sanctuary, led by Youth and Assistant Pastor Joe Bennett, featuring contemporary worship and the celebration of Holy communion.

Good Friday Prayer Walk is from 5 to 8 p.m. March 29 at Pritchard Community Center, led by Pastor Adam Sparks and the Share, Care and Prayer Small Group. A prayer labyrinth will be used to help you pray, reflect and meditate in silence.

Easter morning worship services, 7 a.m. community sunrise service, Freeman Lake Main Bandstand. The Rev. Chuck Darland of Immanual Baptist Church will preach. At 9 a.m., contemporary worship and Baptism service in sanctuary. At 11 a.m., traditional worship and baptism service in sanctuary. At 11 a.m., Hispanic worship service in memory hall.

VISIT. Donald Alexander, daughter, Samantha, and friend, Holly, visited with Floyd and myself Saturday. We always are glad to see grandchildren and they hadn’t been able to visit with us for awhile, because of other commitments.

GET-WELL WISHES. Glad to hear Thelma Dunn came through her surgery well, for her broken hip, and already is taking therapy.

To the ill, we wish them a speedy recovery, and to the bereaved our humblest sympathy is extended. Health concerns include Harris Cheatwood, Danissa Lewis, Billy and Ruby Parker, Martha Sappenfield, Virgil and Nancy Yates, Phyllis Ruff, Floyd Dodson and myself, Olzetta Firquin, Bill Fitzgerald, Buddy Cardwell, Thelma Dunn, Hobart Nantz, Tiffany Hill, Cody Bagley, Larry Freels, Bob Dunaway, Mark Woodard, Cathy Golden, Judy Carter, Betty McClaugherty, Belva Priddy, Bud, Margie and Terry Henderson, Wanda McCoy, Lois Morrissey, Cynthia Fullen, “Kim” my friend in Louisville, Wilma Jean Cundiff, Jackie McGuffin, Elsie Couch, Laverne Nugget, Bonnie Lee, Bart Ponder, Odette Rofiles , Henry Massey, Shannon Keene, Mattie Jennie Clayton, Kevin Goodman, Adele Andrisen and Bobby Smallwood. Also remember Sierra Covin, granddaughter of Randy and Peggy Woosley. If you have recovered and wish your name removed from the list or need it added, please call the number below. Continue to remember our military and our country in your prayers.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY. “No one can whistle a symphony, it takes a whole orchestra to play it.” — H.E. Luccock.

HELPFUL HINT. When pinning up a skirt or pants hem on someone, have them stand up a few stair steps, saves your back not to have to stoop so far. When I was doing seamstress work, I had my clients to that.
