Earth Day, April 22, The Cecilian Bank joined with Bluegrass E-Cycle to offer a Cyber Landfill where the public could drop off old computer equipment, cell phones, printers, televisions and other electronic items for recycling. Computer hard drives were removed and then destroyed on the premises of the Hillcrest Banking Center. The proceeds from the recycled items were donated to Relay For Life. From the items that were recycled through the event, $272 was earned for the local organization. Ken Yoder, owner of Bluegrass E-Cycle, contributed an additional twenty-eight dollars to even out the donation at $300 for Relay For Life. Another similar event is already in the works for Earth Day 2012.
