ELIZABETHTOWN – Don’t fall for it.
That’s the message Elizabethtown police have for Hardin County-area residents receiving bogus “sweepstakes” checks and letters claiming “you are entitled to the lump sum” of up to $50,000.
The letters and checks are part of the most recent of similar scams being delivered directly to local doorsteps via the U.S. Postal Service.
