A Central Hardin High School graduate with a “bubbly personality” died Tuesday night in a traffic crash in Brandenburg.
Megan Kathleen Puckett, 21, of White Mills, was dead at the scene, according to Kentucky State Police.
Puckett was a 2008 graduate of Central Hardin High School. She was a dental assistant at Denton Family Dental Care in Brandenburg.
Puckett was traveling west on Ky. 448 when her vehicle left the road and began to overturn, according to KSP. She was ejected. Puckett wasn’t wearing a seat belt and speed is considered a factor in the crash, KSP said.
Puckett was unresponsive when KSP and the Brandenburg Police Department arrived after receiving a call at 6 p.m., KSP spokesman Trooper Bruce Reeves said.
The crash is under investigation. Routine toxicology reports are pending.
Angie Davis, an English teacher at Central, remembers Puckett as having a “bubbly personality.”
“I remember how very happy she always was,” Davis said in an email. “Her attitude was infectious. When she spoke, she would always become so animated. One couldn’t help but to smile at her.”
Interim Principal Tim Isaacs said the thoughts and prayers of the Central staff are with Puckett’s family.
“Megan was well thought of at Central Hardin during her time here,” Isaacs said.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
