ELIZABETHTOWN — Scott Fiepke, director of the city’s water and wastewater department in Elizabethtown, said a notice concerning home sewer inspections received by The News-Enterprise earlier this week does not apply to all Elizabethtown residents, but rather homeowners who have received the notice personally.
The department has been conducting home inspections for two years, and pinpoints small areas of the city to inspect, with about 30 areas inspected so far, Fiepke said. The department issued this notice for a certain number of homes only, and those homeowners are the ones instructed to schedule inspections.
Fiepke said they are finishing up the last of the inspections for this year and will take a break before renewing inspections again in the spring.
He said he did not know why The News-Enterprise received the notice.
