An appeal hearing has been scheduled next week for former Elizabethtown Police Officer James Richardson, who was removed from duty in December following a suspension.
City Attorney D. Dee Shaw said the hearing before the city’s civil service commission is scheduled for 9 a.m. Jan. 24 in the Elizabethtown City Hall council chambers.
Richardson is represented by local attorney Mike Moulton.
Neither the city nor the police department have explained what led to Richardson’s termination. In a previous statement to The News-Enterprise, Shaw said the city could not release that information until the conclusion of Richardson’s appeal.
