The Potted Few Garden Club held its annual potluck salad luncheon on June 18 at the home of Lahoma Baymor in Radcliff. President Maritza Johnson conducted the business meeting. Baymor asked for suggestions for programs for the coming year and asked members to sign up as hostesses. Ria Malito reminded members to put out fresh water in clean bowls for birds during the hot weather. Bonnie Gunter requested “update” information for the yearbook; the theme this year will be “Trees.” She also requested that members inform her of yards to be considered for Yard of the Month in Radcliff. The club will continue saving box tops, pull-tabs from drink cans and Campbell Soup labels. Martha Mengel, president of the Garden Club of Kentucky, reported that the Potted Few would prepare luncheon for the executive board of GCKY on June 26; proceeds from the project were to be added to the Blue Star Memorial Marker Fund. Bonnie Gunter gave an interesting and informative program on “Making an Herb Container Together.” She demonstrated ways to plant herbs in containers and how to care for them. Some members brought their own containers and plants and worked along with Gunter who shared her plants with them. Members and guests enjoyed an array of delicious, attractive salads and desserts for the luncheon. A field trip in July or August is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
