The 4th annual Via Colori, the Italian street painting festival, returns to Elizabethtown on Saturday with a day of art, food, entertainment and more.
The free event, which is from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., includes large-scale pastel drawings on North Main Street and streets at Public Square, live music, gourmet food, a children’s area, car show and arts and crafts vendors.
Volunteer artists, sponsored by businesses, corporations or individuals, create their works directly on the pavement. A special presentation of the art by candlelight will take place during a night concert.
Sponsored by the nonprofit Advocacy and Support Center, Via Colori is an event that first was held in Naples, Fla., and continued throughout the United States since the early 1990s.
ASC is the only organization to host the festival in Kentucky. All proceeds from the event go to the organization to support its mission serving children and adults who have been victimized by sexual violence.
