Comedian Dr. Dan performs at State Theater

Comedian and public speaker Dr. Dan French will perform at 8 p.m. today at the Historic State Theater in Elizabethtown.

French has two Emmy nominations as a late night comedy writer.

His current project is “Solving the Body Puzzle: Weight Loss Answers for a Puzzled Population.” It’s a one-man show and seminar on how he learned to control his weight, losing more than 300 pounds.

Stand-up comedy is mixed in with the story of his weight loss.

French also holds a Ph.D. in communication studies, teaching at a variety of universities. He has written for “The Late Late Show” on CBS, Dennis Miller and was a contributing writer for George Lopez, Wanda Sykes and David Letterman.

Originally from Kentucky, he now lives in Texas.

The show is appropriate for those 16 and older. Tickets are $12 and $10 with a military ID.

Alcoholic beverages will be sold at the performance.
