WJCR-FM 90.1 is showing its appreciation for listeners with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center at John Hardin High School.
“The Listener Appreciation Concert is our way of saying thank you for listening to and supporting our stations,” station manager Gary Richardson said. “Without the support of our listeners there would be no stations.”
WJCR is a 100,000-watt southern gospel station in Upton, broadcasting to 32 counties. The station is listener-supported and depends on pledges and underwriters for operating costs.
The concert includes Driven, a southern contemporary gospel group from Russell Springs. The six-member group has released three CDs and performs all over Kentucky.
Southern gospel singer Chuck Compton also performs.
The concert is free and doors open at 6 pm.
