Coroner: Burglary suspect died of self-inflicted gunshot

A Radcliff man who opened fire on police officers Wednesday night at a Seminole Road apartment building died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials say.

Michael Strand, 47, was found dead inside his residence less than two hours after Radcliff police arrived at Foxwood Apartments to investigate a burglary in which Strand was considered a suspect.

Because Radcliff police were involved in the shooting, Kentucky State Police Post 4 is investigating.
