The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will reimburse Elizabethtown up to $74,996 to relocate utilities as part of the Elizabethtown to Radcliff Connector. City Council approved the amount during its meeting Monday.
Council also approved a bid by S&R Excavation for the work at $66,958.60. City Engineer Scott Reynolds said seven bids were received on the project.
The council approved up to $400,000 in change orders at the Elizabethtown Sports Park tied to the redesign of two bridges. Planning Director Ed Poppe said one bridge has to be extended by 25 feet and another by 12 feet.
In other business, council approved a bid from RAME Contracting at $180,511.13 for the first phase of the Bush Lane Interceptor project, which will improve sewer services in the southern part of the city, Reynolds said. The service runs from Nicholas Street to the Nicholas Ridge subdivision. Reynolds said the second phase eventually will reach to Bush Lane.
The city is in negotiations with the subdivision developer about splitting the cost of the project. Reynolds expects the city to absorb roughly two-thirds of the expense.
