If you never have been to the Hardin County Fair, you are missing a part of rural America that you really shouldn’t miss.
As a young girl growing up in a rural part of the county, it was such a treat not only to attend the fair but to be a food exhibitor. Every summer, my mom and I would prepare entries to take. At that time, there was a makeshift exhibit hall; it was actually a vacated farm house.
Later, an exhibit building was built and now there is a wonderful, air-conditioned building for food exhibits.
