I would like to thank The News-Enterprise for the recent editorial reference my role with the CORE Committee and the Kentucky Commission on Military Affairs. However, whatever success I had is due, in large part, to several visionary leaders in the community. There were five individuals who, early on, had the understanding and foresight to set in motion the activities and organization necessary to secure the future of Fort Knox. They are Joe Prather, Bill Swope, Steve Montgomery, and Mayors Seuss Pritchard and Jennings Smith (both now deceased).
