Gary Wayne Bennett
Gary Wayne Bennett, 55, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010. 
He was born April 20, 1955, to William Ira and Nellie Bennett in Elizabethtown. He graduated from Elizabethtown High School in 1973, where he played four years of varsity football.  He was a member of the 1969 state football champions. He worked for the Vendamat Department of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company for 20 years. He continued working in the vending service industry at Canteen Food Services for 15 years. An avid fisherman, Gary was a member of the Radcliff Bassmasters Club since 1981. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, William Ira and Nellie Bennett of Elizabethtown; the mother of his children, Janie Bennett; two daughters, Rebecca Bennett Murdock (Jason) of Louisville and Katie Bennett of Elizabethtown; a brother, Roger Bennett (Nisey) of Elizabethtown; his good friend, Virginia; and two nephews, Joseph Bennett (Andrea) and Jack Bennett (Lyndsay), all of Elizabethtown. He was a very good papaw to his one and only, P.K. Murdock.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown and continues after 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Pamela A. Brown
Pamela A. Brown, 45, of Radcliff, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010.
She was a member of the Spotted Saddle Horse Breeders and Exhibitors and Central Kentucky Gaited Horse Association. She enjoyed fishing, horseback riding and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Roy Ulch.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Brown of Radcliff; two daughters, Jennifer Swenson and Kathryn Swenson, both of Radcliff; her mother, Carol Ann Ulch of Muskegon, Mich.; six sisters, Vickie Snyder of Mountain Home, Ark., Darlene Boyce of Coleman, Mich., Charlene Gerlock of Colorado Springs, Colo., Donna Sysak of Abbeville, La., Nancy Sweet of Cole-man and Angel Lynch of Rosebush, Mich.; a brother, Daniel Roy Ulch of Romulus, Mich.; and a grandson, Jeremiah Baker.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
Visitation is from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

William Lee Cofer
William Lee Cofer, 94, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010.
A Kentucky native, he was born in Hodgenville, Lincoln’s birthplace, on Washington’s birthday, Feb. 22, 1916. A graduate of Bowling Green Business University, he served as a special agent for the FBI in Washington state and Chicago, following which he was a member of the business faculty of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. In Dallas, he was a certified public accountant for Dr. Karl Karcher Company and Bell Aircraft. He returned to Kentucky where he continued to reside. He was a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church. He loved to research the Bible and he loved music. He was a longtime resident of Kensington Manor Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Lee and Ethel Highbaugh Cofer; and his brother, Herbie Cofer.
He is survived by his daughters, Rhenda, and her husband, Jerry Saporito, and their sons, Scott and Chris of Metairie, La., and Claire and her husband, Dr. Denny Taylor, and their sons, Robert and Miller Richmond of Mandeville, La.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at Kensington Manor Nursing Home in Elizabethtown.

Charles Louis ‘Louie’ Hodge
Charles Louis “Louie” Hodge, 54, of Cecilia, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at his home. 
He was a member of New Hope Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nellie Rainey Hodge. 
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Hodge of Cecilia; two sons, Charles “Chuck” (Charity) Hodge and Michael (Christy) Hodge, all of Cecilia; five brothers, James Hodge of Big Clifty, Tommy Hodge of Leitchfield, George Hodge of Elizabethtown, Billy Hodge and Mike Hodge, both of Leitchfield; one honorary brother, Brandon Crawford of Cecilia; three sisters, Rita Wright of Caneyville, Nola Geer of Cecilia and Jamie Williamson of Summit; three grandsons, Caleb Hodge, Joshua Hodge and Kamden Hodge; two granddaughters, Kelsen Hodge and Kacie Hodge.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow in New Hope Church Cemetery in Big Clifty.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and continues at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Betty Jane Russell Horn
Betty Jane Russell Horn, 60, of Cecilia, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010.  She passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was a native of Meade County and a member of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church. She worked for Presbyterian Homes/Allegro and took great pride in caring for the residents. She also was a Kentucky Colonel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mose and Irma Warren Russell; and two sisters, Margie Julien and Edith Marie Russell.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Lannie Horn; one son, Lannie Dewayne (Cindy) Horn of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Lori (Todd) Lovelace of Elizabethtown and Kim (Eddie) Stallins of Cecilia; four brothers, Paul Russell, Guy Russell, Mose Russell Jr. and Ernest Russell, all of Brandenburg; six sisters, Mildred Evans and Dorothy Goodman, both of Elizabethtown, and Kathy Russell, Violet Hardesty, Irma Carter and Peggy Higbee, all of Brandenburg; and eight grandchildren, Ashley Hawkins, Amber Lovelace, Amanda Rivera, Tori Lovelace, Kaitlin Stallins, Krystal Stallins, MaKayla Stallins and Sam “Bubby” Stallins.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Brother Eddie McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Horn Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

He is survived by two daughters; two sisters; and five brothers.
