Democratic Women have meeting

More than 70 members and guests attended the recent meeting of the Northern Hardin County Democratic Woman’s Club at the Radcliff Colvin Community Center. Maria Batistoni, first vice president, introduced elected officials and others in attendance: Loretta Crady, Circuit Court clerk; Roy Easter, magistrate District I; Doug Goodman, magistrate District II; Debbie Donnelly, president Elizabethtown-HCDW Club; and Dorothy Leonard, first vice president, Elizabethtown-HCDW Club.

Pictured is the quest speaker for the evening Robert “Bob” Farmer of Louisville, Democratic candidate for Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture along with Maria Batistoni, left and President Bev Rickey on the right. He is a representative for the Farmers’ Almanac with extensive experience in marketing.

President Rickey is pictured recognizing Sherry Barnes as the Democratic Woman of the Month. Barnes gives of herself each month by chairing the Hospitality Committee. She arranges for refreshments and door prizes at each meeting along with overseeing the catering of special events the club participates in. Sherry has served on the executive board of the club in many positions as well as President of the club.

The club discussed having two tables at the Hosparus Tea on March 19. This will be the main community event for the club for March. The Northern Hardin County Democratic Woman’s Club remains very active supporting community needs and has regular meetings at 6:30 p.m., the fourth Monday of the month at Colvin Community Center.
