Departments expect impact from fuel price increase

All Hardin County residents are feeling the sting of increased prices at the pumps. The people who regularly roll around in fire trucks, ambulances and other government vehicles are facing added challenges.

Hardin County Emergency and Medical Services will have to budget during the next fiscal year about 20 percent more for diesel than the organization set aside this year, said David Underwood, administrator for the organization and the Emergency Management Department in Hardin County.
