Despite rain, bypass construction 'not woefully behind'

Work on the U.S. 31W Bypass continues Monday morning as workers construct median barriers before resurfacing begins later in the season. Kentucky Department of Transportation District 4 spokesman Chris Jessie said, “The rain has been hard, but they’re not woefully behind.” Jessie said after median work is done, traffic will be switched over and resurfacing will begin starting just north of the St. John Road intersection and progressing southward to New Glendale Road with a projected completion date of September 2011.
