Driver charged with DUI, assault after Thursday morning wreck

ELIZABETHTOWN —  An Elizabethtown man who police say was driving drunk Thursday morning along U.S. 31W was charged with DUI and assault after he struck another vehicle, injuring its driver.

According to police, Jason Summers, 29, was southbound on North Dixie Avenue when his Dodge Neon collided with a Buick Park Avenue crossing Dixie on Towne Drive. The driver of the Buick, 63-year-old Joyce Cecil, was injured when her car overturned during the collision.
