October marks the beginning of a three-month period during which drivers are more likely to encounter deer on roadways, according to officials.
Late October through early December marks white-tailed deer mating season, according to a release from the Department of Fish and Wildlife. During that time, the animals are more likely to cross roadways as bucks follow and chase does.
Also, deer will be out with deer hunting season approaching.
